There is no more accurate gauge of the quality of life in a region than the health of its arts community. By that measure, Augusta is an excellent place to live. Not only do we have a successful symphony, opera and ballet, but we also boast a variety of theater groups, numerous community art schools and a thriving artistic community personified by Artists Row.In its role as a support organization to the area's arts groups, the Arts Council works to maximize funding from local and state government to re-grant to our member arts organizations. The Council also coordinates and publishes a central arts calendar to assist groups in coordinating dates for performances. Our program are numerous and include everything from arts education to support for local artists and arts groups.
