Art Cart Call for Artists Re-issued, New Deadline August 17

THE DEADLINE FOR THE ART CART CALL FOR ARTISTS HAS BEEN EXTENDED TO AUGUST 17. The Arts Council is currently taking applications and mock-ups from local artists for inventive designs for the Art Cart, a new piece of public art that gives a nod to Augusta’s golf ties while offering the community a place to view local art, a shaded place to sit, and even a charging station for their phone. FEATURED ARTIST: Ashley Gray Ashley Gray is an Ai FEATURED ARTIST: Ashley Gray

Ashley Gray is an Aiken, SC ceramic artist with a love for creating public art. She is one of the four artists who were selected in Phase ONE of the Golden Blocks Project, and she is also a recipient of a 2020 Porter Fleming Foundation grant to create, Basking Turtles, a piece along the Augusta Canal Trail. Her bas relief work is also hanging at the Sweet Auburn Curb Market in Atlanta, Georgia's Sweet Auburn Historic District.
