Thursday, December 12 at 3:00pm

You are invited to attend the Opening Reception of the 5th Annual Winter Art Sale at the City Gallery! Come browse the artwork from local River Region artists. You will be delighted by the selection of smaller art pieces that are available for purchase. Art makes great gifts for yourself and everyone on your holiday shopping list. We look forward to seeing you tomorrow afternoon!
Instagram post 2195095455440143946_263936359 A large sculpture is being commissioned by Beacon Station, and you are invited to vote for your favorite design!
We are excited to announce that the finalists are Larry Millard, Ray Sturkey & Art Abdon, and Wesley L. Stewart & Mat Thomas. Examples of their designs, along with their proposals, are available on the Beacon Station voting site.
Which sculpture do you like best?

The new sculpture will be placed at Beacon Station on their site located across the street from the Augusta University School of Dentistry on Wrightsboro Road in Augusta, GA.
The finalist with the most votes will be commissioned to create their sculpture. Those finalists not selected will each receive a $150 award. You can vote once per day until voting ends on December 18 at 11:59pm.

This project's mission is to bring together Augusta's Augusta’s rich cultural traditions with an optimistic new
future for this newly redeveloped area and welcome visitors into the Laney Walker and Bethlehem Neighborhoods. This work of public art will contribute to the positive reinvestment and redevelopment of the emerging Laney Walker/Bethlehem Revitalization Area.

Instagram post 2192857461387721082_263936359 Meet the artist behind the new Art the Box Installation: Genesis Holmes!

Her art box, “The Feel of Love,” is located at Crest Drive & Tobacco Road in Hephzibah at Sandridge Subdivision.
Genesis has graciously donated this work as a manifestation of her love for art. She is a girl scout, and this work is part of her gold pin for accomplishment in art.
We are thrilled that the increase in public art in Augusta has inspired young Genesis to believe that she, too, can create something beautiful for her city. The Greater Augusta Arts Council is happy to provide her with support for her vision.

Instagram post 2190299898473458974_263936359 New Art the Box Installation by Artist Genesis Holmes!

We are excited to announce the new Art the Box installation, “The Feel of Love,” by high school student Genesis Holmes!

This art box is located at Crest Drive & Tobacco Road in Hephzibah at Sandridge Subdivision.
Genesis is graciously donating this work as a manifestation of her love for art. Her proposal was reviewed by the Public Art Advisory Panel, and permitted by Augusta Traffic Engineering.
Her first proposal was rejected with recommendations to revise and resubmit, and she took the recommendations and created a new proposal, which was accepted.
Genesis is a girl scout, and this work is part of her gold pin for accomplishment in art.
We are thrilled that the increase in public art in Augusta has inspired young Genesis to believe that she, too, can create something beautiful for her city. The Greater Augusta Arts Council is happy to provide her with support for her vision.
